Graceful Acres is an Equine Assisted Therapy Program located in Halifax, Pennsylvania. It began as a dream of founder, Jon Mattis, that turned into reality when his grandparents gave their blessing to use the family farm to start the program. Inspired by his grandmother, Grace, and her innate ability to spread love and kindness to everyone she encountered, Jon decided to honor her memory by making her the namesake of the program. Since its inception, Graceful Acres been recognized for their contribution to the community, including receiving the Jefferson Award in 2019. As part of the award, Jon was asked to speak about the program and the extraordinary athletes that they are blessed to instruct in the skills of natural horsemanship.
